Swapping Kids

A friend of mine asked if we would like to swap kids for date night this weekend. At first I was hesitant only for the fact that this would be my first attempt to babysit since having Baby Spencer. But I took the challenge only cause I know how much it means to both My friend Naomi and I to have our babies overlooked by a mother not a 12 year old. So we decided they would go out Friday Night and we would go out Saturday night. After a long emotional day of weaning Spencer to bottle and a not so fun doctors appt. I was wondering how I would handle 6 kids 3 of them being babies. Perry had to mow lawns all night so I was by myself. I passed with flying colors. We had such a good evening. i just love her kids. I stayed calm and the kids followed in my mood. I really wouldn't mind doing this more often. It was so much fun for Tyler and Trevor to have someone to play with, and I really enjoyed the laughter and energy the kids brought. It was a good ending to my day.

Trevor and his new buddy Caleb.
Caleb was so cute. As long as he was by my side he was happy. So while I gave my two boys a bath he hung out on the side of the bath laughing and splashing away in the water.

After my two boys got out of the baht we got everyone in their Jammie's and I pulled out the hid abed. Whats an evening play date if you dont have a late night movie with ice cream cones and cookies. I just adore little Calebs smile in this picture.

So then Saturday night we took our three kids over to their house and headed up to Reno for a fun filled date at the Roller Kingdom. Yep you heard right we went roller skating and had a total blast. It felt so good for us both to unleash our younger care free side of ourselves that we seem to have lost in the midst of having kids. We both felt like we were 12 years old again. Perry was pulling of all his fancy skate moves while I was able to speed skate in my roller blades a long lost passion of mine. Back in the high school days my friends and I would roller blade all over the town into the late evenings. It was so nice to be back in that element. Im totally sold on swapping your kids for date night. This was an awesome weekend. Thanks Naomi for watching our kids in return.

Darling hair! I got mine cute yesterday. I LOVE it! It's pretty short and it feels great.
Good job running such a smooth show with 6 kids!

That sounds like you had a good time it is nice to do things you did before you had kiddos to help remind you of when you fell in love and remind you that you are more than just parents sometimes that is hard to remember in the crazy day to day life with little ones.
