We have recently decided to kick our Family Home Evening off with fancy Food Storage Dinner. I wasnt sure how the kids would take to this. We have gratefully been able to switch our kids over to nice healthy foods this past year. I havnt yet got creative yet with my food storage so canned, processed foods seems to be our finest. The kids never eat canned foods, its always fresh and natural foods that they crave now so I was worried. I also dont handle processed foods very well so I ended up eating a small portion in fear of being sick all night. Luckily the Kids gobbled it all up with smiles on their faces and Mommy only walked away with minor tummy aches. Phew!
Stay tuned this month I am gonna start making my own bread all out of food storage materials. I am so excited and its gonna save us lots of money too. Its not only high in fiber but high in protein too. Just what my hungry little men need. Wish m luck I have such a hard time rising bread. But now is the time to learn. So hear I go.

4 Little Monkeys:
making your own bread is easier than you think and it tastes so much better too your family will love it but just a warning it won't last as long as store bought bread because the kids will want to just keep eating it so you have to make it more often or in bigger batches and then freeze them. Call me if you have questions and good luck. and good job.
Melissa's right. It is easier than you think. My one area of wo is killing the yeast - make sure you use warm not hot water! And while, bigger batches take forever (especially if you are kneading by hand), it's worth it to not have to make bread every day.
Good luck!!
let me know how it goes if it works out well could i have the recipe because that would be awesome for us. good luck!!
Whenever I make bread, it's gone super fast. Are you doing wheat, white, or both? I try to mainly do wheat because I get to use up my food storage wheat in my wheat grinder, and because it is greater in nutrients. But white bread sure is a treat! Try letting your bread rise in a bowl with a lid on top in a warm sunny car.
Way to go incorporating your food storage!
