Welcome Home Daddy

This past week daddy was away on a business trip to sunny "well rainy" California. It was quit the eventful week without daddy home. We got hit with a ginormous snow storm that led into several days snowed in with no School and no Daddy. What was a Mommy to do. Ill tell you the truth I sure was at a cross road with my emotions. And like I always do I chose the path less chosen. I fell to my knees and prayed for an extra dose of patience, love and devotion. I that I got. It would have been easier to wallow away in stress and chaos, but I decided to make the most of our days and make the most of the snow. it turned out to be a very heart warming week with just my boys and Im grateful for the spirit that lead me in a positive direction each and every day. Here's a glimpse of our past week.
Sunday Dinner without daddy...MiMi and Grandpa did a great job of filling in the gaps for the kids. Grandpa played his first game of Bakugan with Tyler and loved it. It meant the world to Tyler. Trevor got his extra snuggles from MiMi.

Monday morning we made a chain with individual activities for each day daddy was gone. Making Cookies, Family Game Night, Movie Date w/ Mommy, Bedtime Christmas Lights Drive, Play in Snow.
We made a package for daddy and mailed it to him. Tyler of course chose to write daddy a letter. To Sweet.

Making Yummy Candycane Cookies

Spent hours on end playing outside in the snow. The kids had a blast clearing off Mommys car, making snow angels, making moon prints with their boots.
We were very lucky to be able to talk to daddy several times during the day. The kids loved telling daddy about their day and activities they had been doing.
The boys welcome Daddy home with an immediate plea for some much needed..long awaited "Bouncing on the Bed"
Spencer got a little carried away with the bouncing and within 30 minutes of being home he had welcomed daddy home with a big gash to the forehead. Luckily with him being our 3rd child we have learned our lesson on rushing our children to the ER and wasting 6 hours to find them stitching them up with Liquid glue. This time with daddy just coming home we just cleaned him up real good and put some liquid band aid on him and called it a day. This kid didnt even skip a beat, after Mommy Doctor came to the rescue he was begging to rejoin the monkeys jumping on the bed.

Not much went on schedule while Daddy was gone. Dinner wasnt always made at 5:00pm, we may have stayed in our jammies a bit longer then normal, ate very casual meals, left the house a mess and in shambles, didnt have time to pay bills or clean up checkbook register, and attempted to scrap my snow filled sidewalks and driveway with 3 monkeys behind me.
It may not have gone perfectly but it did go smoothly and I have my Father in Heaven to thank for that. I did make a choice to wake up every morning with a positive outlook on my day. I made it mandatory that this Mommy got dressed and made up and that I got at least 30 minutes of shut eye even if it was with 3 monkeys jumping all over me on the couch playing doctor. None the less staying focused and upbeat with ambition to make the most of my day is what made us all survive this LONG week away from daddy. We love you daddy and are glad youre home.
