I did something NEW!

For all you old time Grilling Moms consider me now part of your grill'n club. I have taken on a new skill. Yep I BQ'd dinner all by myself for the first time EVER. This is big doings for me. And to top it Tyler and i made homemade french fries together too. We had so much fun cooking together.
I usually consider BQ'ing a Mans Job and my husband is beyond amazing when it comes to BQ'ing so I have always left that in his hands....until this week. You see just as the crazy school schedule invades my life so does my husbands late night work hours. I dont mind really, I support him in all he does if Boss demands more overtime, then I as a wife will have to learn to be just a little more independent. Perry and I made an agreement before this shedule come apon us. That is he can work late if he just takes time out to come home for dinner and spend some playtime with the boys each night until bath time. He has been pretty faithful to this request and I have been faithful in my new attitude to be more self reliant and independent. It does make for one tired Mama though once kids are in bed. Phew thank goodness bedtime is bumped up to 7:30pm now.

When it comes to BQ'ing I most all the time need his help, he is the master BQ'r in our house. Unfortunately with him working up until dinner is placed on the table, I can no longer do that with a starving hungry child returning from school. We are on a strict schedule to have dinner made and on the table by 5:15pm or else its off with my head in Tylers opinion. So this week I had hamburgers on my menu and though I was super close to baking them in the oven, I took on a new challenge and cooked them the "REAL" way BQ style. Ohhhhh Yeah!

Southwestern Hamburgers: If you use taco sauce for the spread in the hamburgers buns and avocado placed on top of pattie. Ohhh I tell you its delicious, just my own little touches to this recipe.

I was one proud Mama that night and my kids and husband scarfed up this meal like no other. Not to mention this recipe is to die for. Thanks Larissa for this fantastic recipe. Here's a shout out to your wonderful creative blog with some of the most mouth watering recipes.
