Rise and Shine!!!

Rise and Shine...arnt these little munchkins and their bedheads the cutest things you have ever seen.

Okay so I have decided that its time to start settling back into a routine before school starts. I wasnt gonna do this till the weekend before, but this tired old pregnant Mama is getting a little worn out with the summer run arounds and late night parties. So no better time then NOW. First things first...getting the kids back into an early bedtime, at least 12 hours of sleep at night rather then the average summer slumber of 8-9 hours.

Mission Accomplished. First I started with earlier naps with my two youngest, and only allowed the to nap for 1 hour. I then ran some errons and started cleaning house and getting dinner ready by 4:30pm. Dinner was on the table by 5:15pm. Dessert by 6:00pm. Playtime from 6:00-6:30pm. Quite Time and jammies till 7:00pm. Then Lights Out. Ahhhh I didnt hear one peep from the kids till 7:00am this morning. Ahhhhhhh Rise and Shine. I have never felt so refreshed all summer long. It was definitely a faster pace for all of us, but in time we will all settle back into this familiar rhythm and be better prepared and refreshed every morning for school.

Next Goal for Mommy: To get into a routine of taking my showers and doing my hair in the evening after kids go to bed so I wont be so rushed in the morning. This goal is much harder in the sense that when the kids go to bed I am so wiped out I can barely move or function. I find myself just vegging on the couch. But this goal will free more time for me and the kids in the morning allowing an easier flow the nest day. This goal may take a little longer to accomplish but it will get done.

Sounds great, Mama! Good job! We're camping this weekend but once we get back we're getting strict on the bedtime routine, too. We have them in their room by about 7:30 with flashlights & books. Then lights out by 8:00! I think I'm gonna try to get myself out of bed & In the shower by 7:00 so I can have them up by 7:30. I love that the school is a stone's throw from our front door - 7:30 is a good wake-up time. I had a bad habit of taking them to school in my jammies - and then getting a very late start on the day. I really, really want to overcome that this year! I'm not PG, I don't have a newborn, I don't have a nursing baby.... no excuses!
