Tonight was Tyler's Open house at his school. Daddy, Grandpa, MiMi, Mommy and his brothers went to check out his kindergarten room and see what hes been busy doing this past month. Tyler wasnt in the mood to take picture's so I had to take what I could get. He was just so excited to show us the ropes.

Tyler was so excited to show me his picture journal. It reminded me of "Sid the Science Kid" on PBS. Everyday they draw in the journal and the teacher has them write a description about their picture without her help. I couldnt help but chuckle as I read his description. What a smart little boy and what a hard thing to do. Im so proud of him for his effort and excitement to learn how to sound words out and spell them on his own. So Precious.
He is trying to spell out "Me at the park" I thought it was so cute how he spelt it. Hes learning how to find the beginning letter of each word.

Aside Tyler's cheesy grin, this was his most favorite thing to show us tonight. Today he came home excited to tell me about Attributes. I asked him to explain what he was finding Attributes in. Tonight we got to see hands on the Attributes in all the different kinds of shapes. He organized these set of shapes and told us the attributes to these shapes is that they are all orange. I cant believe the things they learn in Kindergarten. Its awesome. I love knowing Tyler is in good hands at this school and learning such amazing things at such an early stage in his education.
The PTA held a yummy Ice Cream Social and Book Fair afterwards. I wish so bad I could be a part of the PTA this year, but its just not my season for that kind of stuff yet. With all my little chicks life is all about surviving what I absolutely need to do at this point. For a while it bothered me but im really okay with devoting all my energy and time to my family. Thats where Im needed most in this era of my life.

Let me jsut tell you that this picture of Spencer's feet says it all. A night I thought would be so picture perfect was just complete chaos. I couldnt even find my littlest mans shoes so he went with non matching socks and a snotty nose.

My whole idea of having a nice peaceful evening and long talks with his teacher didnt happen, and tyring to attempt to Book Fair just about did me in. I now know why people stare at me like im a hurricane in motion. Its truly how I feel in public. When my little boys get excited about something fun or new they just dont quit know how to channel their energy and it just ends up looking like I own a pack of Tasmanian devils. So much for thumbing through endless books with my kids and purchasing some of our favorite finds. I quickly moved out of the library and called it quits. Kids had the most confusing looks on their faces like " Why is mom in such a panic to get back to the car". Hmmmmmmm maybe is cause enough is enough. Soon I will realize and be okay with the fact that I dont have a house full of well mannered girls, but more like a house full of rambunctious over excited little men. I just want one thing to go picture perfect. Maybe I need to change my definition of "Picture Perfect" and make each chaotic event perfect in our own unique way. Thats my new goal. But all in all I will say for the Lawson Bunch we did have a good time and I truly enjoyed seeing all the neat things he is learning and doing. and It made me smile ear to ear that he has so much love and excitement for school. Im so glad hes happy in kindergarten and loves going.
