This past weekend we as a family went camping with our ward at a local camp ground. Davis Creek is a beautiful place to camp and to get away from the world and the best part is its only 15 minutes away in case the kids need to get home for whatever reason. Thats my kind of camping these days with so many little ones. We invited some of our friends and of course Aunt Melanie and Unlce Micah. The kids got to run around with all their friends and us parents got to sit an chat with the grown ups. It was a very nice warm evening, but once that sun set and the night continued on it was a very bitter chilled night. I had to dress my boys in 3 layers of jammies and tried my best to keep them in beanies and hoodies all night. There were times during the night I almost packed up my bags and brought the kiddos home to their warm bed. But I remained faithful in my camping rituals and suffered through the bone chilled night with a whopping 3 hours of sleep. This camp out was big doings for our family considering we havnt been camping for over 3 years. The last time was when Trevor was 6 months old. Spencer has never been camping so this was his first time. Though it was a tremendous amount of work for Perry and I we knew it was necessary to build that memory as a family, a memory long past due.
"Its all part of the experience"

.
We would have never made it through the night if its wasnt for this amazing Heater Buddy. Its an Tent heater that works wonders. Each time the kids would wake up whining from the cold we would light up the Heater Buddy and within minutes our tent would go from 40 degrees to like 70 degrees. It was able to tuck our kids back into bed nice and toasty on such a cold night. Its the best camping investment we have ever made.
After a long cold night the kids decided to wake up at the crack of dawn 5:15am. We were the only family up at that hour, but we made the most of it. We created a nice warm fire to help fight of the cold air. Along with some yummy hot coco. Perry and I set up breakfast for the whole ward and prepared a nice hot pot of water for all to have hot coco as well. Theres nothing so soothing them sitting next to a warm fire drinking hot coco. One of my most fondest memories of camping. Glad to see our boys enjoying this time of the day as well.

You cant go camping without a Harmonica. These are our good friends Amanda and Aaron. They helped watch Spencer for me while I finished making breakfast.

Perry decided to bring te American Flag up for breakfast and spend a quit moment in the morning reflectnig back on 9/11. Its was nice to spend a moment and remember the loss of our nation and the strength we have all gained from that experience.

It was so nice to have our friends and family join us this past weekend. I have known Amanda for over a year through email but have not been able to find the time to actually sit down face to face and truly meet and get to know her. It was so nice to visit with her and her husband they are a wonderful family. Melanie used to watch their son Brady and that’s how we meet. Brady is the only child but soon they will be adding to their family as their little girl is due in weeks. The kids had so much fun playing with Aunt Melanie and Uncle Micah. They really enjoyed playing in their tent and being silly.

Perry stayed and took Trevor fishing while I had to race home early Saturday morning for Tlyers soccer pictures and first soccer game. Spencer crashed the minute he got in the car.
Boy was it one hectic morning trying to come back from camping jump in the bath and dress for soccer pics and a game all by 10am. I held myself together pretty well and my Mom and I made a great tag team. She took Tyler to his game while I tried to finish getting Spencer out of the bath. I made it to Tylers game with 5 minutes left. It felt like I was sliding into home base as I arrived at the very last minute of his game. As I pushed Spencer in a stroller racing to get to his field I noticed my mom there cheering Tyler on. When she saw me she ran and gave me a big hug and within seconds I lost all composure. I feel into tears out of exhaustion and frustration that I didnt make to his game in time. I can not even explain how wild and bazaar my life is right now. But seeing Tyler chase that ball down the field with a big smile on his face and a love for this sport it made it worth all my effort to get him there. I am eternally grateful for my Mom and all she does to sweep me up off my feet and help me in times of need. Tyler did so good in his game. Even with the small amount of sleep he had he was a little fire rocket snatching the ball from underneath his opponents and scoring 2 goals just in the 5 minutes I had arrived. Hes my little champ thats for sure.
