When I was a little girl I knew my Father was special. He is the kind of father that would spend hours on end counseling you through your worries and doubts in life. His gentle words of encouragement and love made you always feel like a winner in all your failings. I always knew my father loved me and was proud of me, no matter what. Hes the father that drops everything to come rescue his heart broken daughter in Utah and bring her home to safety, hes that father that has a soft heart and kind spirit. He is steadfast in the gospel and immovable. Hes the Father that you would notice nestled in his chair early in the morning engaged in deep personal scripture study. Hes the father that has a detailed answer for every gospel question imaginable. Hes that father that showed deep concern and love for his children when away for months at a time in the army. Hes that Father that collects every ounce of artwork and letters his children and grandchildren give him. Hes very sentimental, and very passionate about family and the gospel. Its amazing to me his passion and devotion to serving his family and others around him. He has a way of looking beyond others imperfections and searching for the good in all people. I remember him holding family counsels growing up and demanding respect for his wife "our Mother" when our tongues was a little sharp towards her. Hes a little shy on the outside but brave and valiant in his soul. Hes a man of great integrity and loyalty to all responsibilities given to him. Hes is not only my father, but now the Father of the Carson City Clear Creek Ward. A moment I foresaw as a little girl each and every time I would glance in his warm loving eyes. Hes a leader not only in his home, but to others around him. What a special day in our family history one we will remember and cherish in our hearts for ever always. I love you Dad! Thanks for being you.
