A Rocking New Years Eve Party

Friday... "New years Eve" was Ryan's first day home. Things ran rather smooth. He really is a good baby even if we are in the honeymoon stage, I think its his character too. He is such a laid back kinda baby rarely fusses.

Perry took the 3 older boys to the park to allow me some down time. When he returned we got our party faces on and started our evening. Luckily we had a dinner brought to us so that took some pressure off of us.

After dinner the boys watched a movie all snuggled up on the couch together. I kept reminding them that theres no bedtime tonight. It was like announcing anarchy, the kids would shout hooray and scream around the house every time I reminded them. That was the greatest gift of all and a curse for us parents. LOL

The kids played basketball till 10:00pm, using their Santa Elves for the ball. It was pretty funny to see the elves land in the net hanging upside down or by their hats. made for 3 giggly little boys.

We then started a new tradition on New years Eve. A good old game of Monopoly. We bought the kids Monopoly Jr. to start with until they got older. We had so much fun and even though the game was simplified it still taught the kids the key points and skills of the game. Theres no turning back...we as parents have officially welcomed Monopoly into the hearts of our children. It will forever be a family favorite. The boys have been converted into this insane obsession to this game. The one part to this Jr. version that rang true was the length of the game. We ended up playing this Jr. game for over an hour. We had a lot of fun as a family. And guess who won...the one...the only...the all mighty Daddy! Yep He truly is the champion of monopoly.

We then stuck with our tradition of making homemade doughnuts. This time we didnt care about the calories. We deep fried these yummy cake doughnuts. And I will have you know the boys gobbled them up after banging pans. They turned out scrumptious in every way.

Baby Ryan woke up right before the Apple Dropped. Literally at 11:40pm he awoke. Perfect timing huh! We kept the boys occupied with play dough while I finished frying the last of the doughnuts all awhile Ryan was in daddy's arms practicing his blood curdling screams for the outside celebration at midnight. I have never seen our house so thrashed so late as I did on that New Years Eve. The kids just kept going and going and going. Like the energizer Bunny.

Yummy the finished product hot and fresh ready to be eating. Some little mouth got to the top one already if you couldn't tell.

It's the final countdown. 4 minutes to go. We got coats on and kitchen pans in our hands. Baby Ryan was even ready to wake the neighborhood up with his screaming. We were one excited bunch thats for sure. Daddy found Ryan the cutest little pan and spoon for him to bang. Mommy would be his helper this year. Perry and I couldnt believe that all 4 of our kids managed to make it to midnight. *ahhh I love saying all 4. In all our years this was the first year we were all awake and excited to bang pans together it was amazing and wonderful, but made for 2 extremely tired parents.

Proof that we indeed woke up every neighbor on our street, and boy were we proud of it.

isn't it funny how no one cares that #4 is crying (screaming-your words) but if that had been Tyler!
