During Dinner Tyler kept complaining that his lose tooth was to uncomfortable to eat. I took a look inside his mouth and sure enough one of the two lose teeth was on the verge of falling out. The gums surrounding the tooth were already bleeding and the tooth was barley hanging on. I didnt want the tooth to fall out over night and get lost in his covers, so I knew the time had come to yank this sucker out. We had a long discussion over dinner on different tooth yanking methods. He wanted to first start off my trying to wiggle it out, as Daddy remembers doing as a kid. After a couple wiggles I had enough of the torture and told him I just couldnt continue wiggling such a stubborn tooth...that it was making Mommys tummy weak. So onto the next method....
The Apple Toss. Poor Tyler was so incredibly nervous and didnt know what to expect. I kept reassuring him that Mommy remembers using the Apple Method and it was so quick and painless you dont even notice the tooth falling out. Full of all kinds of emotions I quickly tied the string to the apple and then several times around his lose tooth. We then as a family gave the best drum roll we could muster up I tossed that apple to the floor. And OUT flew his tooth! we all cheered as we gathered the tooth up off the floor. Tyler was so proud and had been waiting for this moments for a long time.
We set the tooth aside in a bowl of water and then rinsed and cleaned up Tylers toothless smile. We then gave him a nice cold wash cloth to chew on and to help the bleeding.
Within minutes Tyler had the cutest new smile and Perry and I had witnessed yet another great mile stone in his life. It was a proud moment for all of us even his little brothers were in awe.
It's a good thing I had been working on his tooth pillow this week. It wasn't completely finished, but it was far enough along to do its job of holding this tiny little fragile tooth. He tucked his tooth in the the front pocket of the pillow and without a fight headed straight to bed. He couldnt wait for the Tooth Fairy to come.
In the morning he awoke to a nicely folded Dollar Bill in place of where the tooth was stored. He admired that Dollar Bill all morning long.

2 Little Monkeys:
Cute story! But... it doesn't look like you are resting... my ob said I could be up long enough to make a simple sandwhich or shower quickly but that was it, and I was just watching my blood pressure. Take care of you and baby Ryan, Keri. I hope that you are getting lots of down time! We are praying for you!
LOL thanks Kate. Its so hard to have led feet with 3 little boys. I sometimes wish doc could just chain my feet to the ground. I am staying low 90% of my day. that other 10% is just the nature of having a busy fmail. Perry does great at helping, its just this stubborn Mama cant sit still all the time. I am learning its best for all of us if the kids get out of the house and Mommy has quite time to lay low with no temptations to step into Mommy mode. Ive got lots of help this next couple of weeks with playdates, dinners, and running errands. this bed rest business is just plain hard. you know! thanks for checking in and being concerned. Ill do better next week. :)
