Today marked the 100th Day of School. Tyler has been anticipating this day for several months. He would come home and always inform me on the number of school days he was on and how close he was to 100. Its been really fun for him to learn how to count to 100. He has built up a strong love for Math and looks forward to it everyday at school. Over the weekend he begged for me to come volunteer at his school on Monday for the big 100 Day Celebration. Without hesitation I gladly took up the offer.
First thing we did this morning was to make our very own Homemade T-Shirt, designed to celebrate the 100th Day. It was Daddy's idea to make a shirt we just had to brain storm a bit to come up with the creative design. This is what we decided on. We used one of his old white undershirts and I would write each number on the shirt with a black pen as he counted up to 100. We then highlighted each group of 10's and drew a giant RED 100 on the back. We were pretty impressed at how well it turned out. He was really excited and proud to wear his fancy shirt to school. The Principal even found Tyler and took a picture of him and his cool shirt to put in the "End of the Year" slide show. How cool is that.
After breakfast he couldnt wait to call MiMi and tell her all about this cool day. He couldnt wait to go to school and celebrate with his class.
I had a lot of fun helping out in his class today. I was able to go to P.E. and Recess with him as well as helping out in the station in class that were centered around the number 100.
Teach asks the kids to bring 100 small items from home to share with their classmates. Tyler picked out 100 Popcorn Kernels. One of the stations in class was to place your 100 items on this counting chart.

Then off to recess. It was so cute to see him gather his little group of friends and race their way to the monkey bars. I clapped and cheered for him as he showed of his skill of mastering the monkeys bars. He had them aced and was swinging all over the playground just like a true monkey would do.
We then came inside and continued playing in these fun stations centered around the number 100. And then at the end of the day Mrs.Maples gave each of the kids their very won 100 glasses to wear home.
We then went out for ice cream as a family after dinner to celebrate this fun filled day.
Happy 100th day of School!!!!!!
