Ryan just turned 1 month old. Hes a great little baby. Hes very laid back and patient. Hes made several daily trips to the doctor on my behalf and rolled with the punches as Mommy tried to heal and get better. My blood pressure and open incision ruled our lives this past month. We spent many days snuggled up in bed as I tried to heal. A true blessing in disguise. Those moments when it was just baby and I, are true moments I cherish. I am grateful that MiMi gave me that time to heal by taking the older boys off my chest on a repetitive daily basis.
Hes got the most beautiful dark blue eyes and the tiniest hands and feet. Hes gained 2 lbs leaving him weighing in at a whopping 8lbs. He sleeps up to 3-4 hours at a time. Hes a great baby throughout the night. Hes kinda on a casual routine. feeds around 11:00pm, 2:00am, and 5:30am. Breastfeeding has gone really well this month. He drinks about 5-6 oz every 3-4 hours. The only complaint I have is that he is a slow eater. His feedings last anywhere from 45 - 60 minutes. Making it difficult to get my kids dressed and ready for school in an orderly fashion. That will come with time for now its a bit chaotic as school time draws near each day.
Hes got acid reflex pretty bad as all my boys did. BY now I have a pretty good idea of how to help calm his tummy and help him sleep more comfortably. He sleeps all the time in his swing allowing him to stay upright and free of pain. I swaddle him the best I can, but hes about as clever as Houdini and can maneuver himself out of the tightest swaddle. Most of the time I find him asleep with his arms hanging outwards. I also use a white noise machine that sounds like a heartbeat. When you put all of these together it equals one happy sleeper and a more rested Mommy.
We received the good news this month that baby Ryan does not have Down Syndrome. This was big news for our family. Its was great peace of mind knowing that he beat all the odds. Way to go Ryan, we knew it all along that you were gonna be healthy.
These are just some fun pictures I took of him through out the month.

Since I am sleeping in the baby's room for the time being, its seems as though our puppy had no problem filling the void for Perry. This beast is gonna have to move his booty once I return here in a couple of weeks. Ive decided to sleep in baby room so I could allow Perry his space to get a good nights rest for work.
