POW WOW

We took the kids to their first POW WOW. Our neighbors are Indian and invited us out to watch. It was a really neat experience to stretch beyond our comfort zone and embrace a different culture. We definitely stuck out like a sore thumb, but we remained respectful to their culture and they were mutually friendly in return. It was good for the boys to learn of the Indian dancing and Singing and help embed a sense of tolerance to others around them and their beliefs.

Tyler held on tight to my hand as he tried to figure out the reasoning behind the spirited dancing and singing. It made him a little uncomfortable and nervous, but as I held his hand and whispered encouraging words of comfort to him his little heart slowly gained that tolerance that I spoke about above.

Even Baby Ryan enjoyed his time there.
