Coach Lawson and the Tackle Monster

We've had a fun and busy week with football. First off Daddy was asked to step in and help coach. For a while its seemed as though football was dominating our family time. Its been quit the adjustment with all the hustle and bustle that football brings into our lazy summer schedule. But now that daddy is coaching it has redefined the meaning of family time in a new and positive way. To see both Coach Lawson and Mini Lawson out on the field together is a joy to see. I know it means the world to Tyler to have this time with his daddy on the field. They both love football and really enjoy sharing that passion together. Makes football night a real treat that we look forward to all day long.
This week has been set aside to teach the boys how to tackle. Tyler had no problem slamming his team mate to the ground. In the above picture Couch Scout paired Tyler up with a larger, older more experienced kid. He mentioned to Tyler and the rest of the team that being small has its advantages. When facing an opponent taller then you the trick is to drive your shoulders into his gut, grab his chest plate and drag him to the ground with no mercy. Tyler did exactly that and knocked this above kid on his feet. Its was quit the site to see and a great moment for Tyler to use his tiny stature in a conquering way. I just love this sport, there are so many life lessons you can gain from just one single practice or tackle. Its awesome.

Coach Scout really likes Tyler. He loves his energy and enthusiasm for the game. Coach Scout calls Tyler the "Tackle Monster". He seems to put a lot of focus on Tyler during practice, you can really tell that he's fine tuning his newly found skills. This week the coaches are evaluating the players and placing them into field positions that fit them the best. It will be interesting to see the position they pick for Tyler.
