Tonight is Family Home Evening. A chance for our family to gather together, set the world aside and focus on sharpening family issues that seem to go dull on occasion. It's time to be united, to talk of the gospel together, to create positive healthy goals and to find solutions for problems that arise in a busy household. It's like having a weekly Family Conference. We love this time together and we enjoy the strength we get from staying connected as a family and allowing the spirit to guide us in a positive direction.
We wanted to hold our meeting on the Temple grounds where we could all feel spirit better. Tonights topic was on Family Unity. With summer drawing to an end we always tend to get a little more edgy with one another. There's more bickering then laughing, there's more whining then flexibility. There's less patience and more frustration. The days seem longer and the nights seem shorter. It's just the typical summer blues that we all seem to fall into. Well tonight we assigned Tyler our 8 year old to write his thoughts on family unity and how we can strengthen each other and support each other, how we can Honor Thy Mother and Father. How we can fulfill our Devine role as a member of this family. It's was a beautiful little talk Tyler gave with some addition scriptures by Mom and Dad and some great discussions with the younger siblings. From the looks of these pictures I think the meeting was a success. The boys are back to holding hands, running and laughing, helping each other and playing with smiles.
What a great day :)
