Lately I've been feeling very homesick. Tyler has been struggling with making new friends and the weather is always so gloomy. Not a good combo for a Mother who needs positive focus and happy energy. I know this move was the right thing to do but it doesn't always mean it will be easy. I have been able to stay pretty strong and positive up until the point when I started seeing Tyler struggling. That throws at dagger to any mothers heart. Trevor has been fine and has made a lot of great friends. Its an easy age to make a move. Kindergarteners are usually pretty social and love meeting new kids. Trevor had that to his advantage. This has been pretty smooth sail for everyone but Tyler. Id like to think its an age thing. It can't be easy being 8 and having to move and make new friends. I know Tyler will rise above this, I just know it.

Feeling Homesick
Today on the way home from school we all had gloomy faces on, until we crossed over the train tracks and noticed the train just miles away. We all jump up and out of our van and waited patiently for it to arrive. This was our first time catching the train. As it zoomed by honking its horn at us it filled us with hope and happiness. It gave us something to enjoy on a day that wasn't so enjoyable. There's something magical about trains, specially ones that run along the back of your neighborhood. It's Awesome!!!!
To help bring a little extra comfort into our day I decided to make Mimi's Homemade Mac & Cheese. Nothing says home like this family favorite recipe.
We all went to bed that night a little happier with magic in our hearts!
