I couldn't help but sit back and reflect on this past week. Today Spencer turned 1 week. Even though he came to us through intense pain and agony (labor...need I say more), he has been nothing but a sweet pea since hes been home. He is by far the best baby in the world. He sure does treat his Mommy right. He only feeds every 5 hours and sleeps in between. Can you believe it. its that simple for him. Just eat and sleep and give Mommy a brake. I do have to admit my number one fear was that Spencer would come home and be a very colicky baby and very clingy. With having a 3 year old and a 1 year old, I just didn't need that. I consider it a precious gift from above that he is an absolute angel.
I hope this blog doesn't find me jinks. Cross your fingers he continues to be a good baby. I was so worried about him being too good. Sleeping all the time feeding only 5 hours at a time. waking up only once during the night to feed, but at his one week appt. doctor was pleased to tell me that he is back up to birth weight and he was very happy at how healthy he looked. So doc gave me permission to stop worrying and enjoy this well rounded baby. I am trying to just relax and let him sleep.
The two boys really love their new baby brother. Tyler seems to have a little bit harder time adjusting than Trevor but thats due to their age. Tyler being 3 years old really understand the change and the sacrifices we all have to make when a new baby comes home. His been on the extra naughty side lately, and any of you that have a 3 year old knows that its not fun if you times a 3 year olds behavior by 10...its not the most fun. But Perry and I are standing firm on our rules and giving him a little extra love thats needed. But for the most part Tyler has been very loving and kind to Spencer. Hes been a big helper this past week. Throwing dirty diapers away, getting mommy a clean diaper, and giving hugs and kisses to the baby. Before Church on Sunday I noticed him playing with Spencer little tiny fingers. He was in awe at how small he was. I couldn't help but grab my camera and capture that sweet moment.
As for Trevor I dont think he really cares about the change. He is too busy walking and running around the house. This is a perfect age for him to have a brother cause hes to young to really understand the change and he'll never remember life without Spencer. The sweetest thing about Trevor is he will notice Spencer from across the room and run over to him pointing his finger and talking gibberish. He give him hugs and kisses and poke him to see if he is real. Lately whenever I am feeding Spencer Trevor will come jump on my lap and watch T.V. Poor Spencer is all squished and smushed, but also very cozy. I think hes gotten used to Trevor squishing him. It seems to be a comfort to Spencer when Trevors around. Its so cute.

3 Little Monkeys:
Spencer is just so cute. I have a picture of both boys in that same "thinker" pose. Perhaps it is common for newborns.
Eating every 5 hours! That must be fantastic. Cody was every 2 hours or sooner- for the first 5 months.
You have such a cute family. I am glad that Spencer is such a good baby you needed that. I love the pictures I can't wait until I can come meet Spencer and Ethan is would love to play with Tyler again.
I can't believe that Spencer only eats every 5 hours and sleeps in between! You're so lucky to have such an angel! I'm sure it was no accident that such a calm and sweet baby was sent to you when you have two toddlers to worry about though!
