The Inspection

So we have the contract in hand and the house is ours if we just make two simple signatures. We have to sign for the house no later than Friday night. Since the house is an auction house (which means the next step after foreclosure) there is no grace period after signing that allows us time to do inspections and what not. So if we were to sign for the house today and find out down the road through inspections that the house has got major damage there would be no turning back.


That scares us to death. We feel its not worth it. There has been horror stories of when people foreclosure they deliberately destroy major things in the house just to get back at people like us that come and buy at low cost. We are not willing to take that risk. We have been very detailed on our loan and the house to make sure there arnt any catches or problems. We want this to be fair for us 100%.


So our awesome realtor has called the inspector and we were able to get an appt to meet with him today at 3:00pm to walk through and inspect the place with him. So by tonight we should have a good idea if we are gonna really buy this house or not. We hope the inspection turns out good, we really want this home. But we know if its got major damage its not gonna be worth it, or good for us right now.
