So last night for dinner we ate Hamburgers. I gave trevor a piece of bun to eat, some fruit and cheese. perry thought he might like a pickle so we tried it and he loved it. He ate about 5 pickles and gobbled them up. I went in the other room to feed Spencer a bottle and Daddy stayed with the boys at the table while they ate.
I was feeding Spencer when i heard Daddy shout really loud. I thought it was Tyler miss behaving at the table so I ignored it. A second later I heard Perry yell louder "Keri hurry come here now" I threw Spencer on the couch and ran into the kitchen. I found Perry in a panic and Trevor wasnt breathing. I used my CPR training skills and even yank him out of his seat and checked his throat and chest to see if he was breathing. No sign of breathing. at the point all I could remember about my training was to yell for 911. So I did. I screamed over and over "call 911, please someone call 911" as perry dialed 911 I was crying outloud to my father in Heaven to please help save my child. Perry told me to turn him upside down and smack his back. Being it was my kid once he stopped breathing I forgot all my skills in CPR. I froze. Thanks to Perry he brought me back up to surface and i flipped Trevor over and smacked his back really hard. He was frozen himself and not moving. I cried out loud "Heavenly Father please save him" and at that moment he started coughing.
By the grace of God my beautiful 16 month old son survived this terrible life threatening choke.
There is nothing more terrifying than coming face to face with death with your frozen 16 month old in your arms. Trevor had this look in his eye like he was saying " Mommy save me" It was intense. He had nightmares all night and so I had no problem snuggling with him in my bed and holding him in my arms. I dont think we will be eating pickles for a while around here. And this week im gonna make a poster to hang in my kitchen with CPR instruction on them so I wont forget or go blank next time.

6 Little Monkeys:
Holy cow I can't believe it that is so scary I am so glad that he is ok. I can only imagine how scary that must have been for all of you.
Glad Trevor is fine, but what a scary ordeal! Good idea about the CPR instructions in your kitchen though, we all need a refresher when it comes to that stuff, then pray we never have to use it.
Wow, that is so scary. I'm so glad that all turned out well for you. Poor little guy!
So how did it end? Did he cough up the pickle or what? That is so scary!
I can't imagine - glad to hear he is okay. I never have like pickles!
I liked the Tahoe pictures. Looks like everyone had a good time.
