Growing Pains

Trevor is battling 2 new mile stones these past couple of months. Potty Training and sleeping in his big boy bed. Tyler and Trevor have been sharing a room all this time but its been very hard to teach Trevor to stay in bed when hes waking up his brother ll night screaming. We racked our brain trying to come up with solutions. The only thing working was to just let Trevor sleep with us all night. I was eating me a live that I wasnt allowing Trevor to grow and reach his full potential when it came to independent sleeping. We have been down this road with Tyler and know the benefit that come with a disciplined sleep structure. And we weren't about to jip poor Trevor out of those blessing so we had to think fast.

We decided instead of bringing Tyler in our bedroom ( which we are totally against)we would give our bedroom up for the sake of our kids. We live in a three bedroom house so we were left with no other option but to give our our bedroom to Tyler. That way Trevor could have his own space to learn how to sooth himself to sleep and adjust to his big boy bed.

So with no hesitation we moved ourselves out to the Living room floor for a couple of months. Perry gave Trevor a blessing of comfort and we began the process of healthy sleep habits. He slept by the door for the first 2 weeks, and would scream off and on all night. I would cry and pray throughout his screaming fits. it was painful growth for both of us. But I never gave up. We did this for Tyler and I wasn't gonna give up on Trevor. I believed in the power of the priesthood and I knew in time he would slowly adjust.

I am pleased to announce that after four long weeks he is now excited to lay down in his bed at night and without a peep he falls fast asleep. He has been sleeping all night in his bed and rarely ever waking up. And to top it off he has still been engaged in potty training and doing very well. Growing pains can hurt but the growth is something unforgettable. We love you Trevor and are so proud of you!

Way to go Trevor! We are working with Ezra on sleeping in his bed all night. Man! He gets "scared" every night! But last night he didn't come in until like 6. That's progress. As long as we are progressing, it's great!
