We just finished reading the "Book of Mormon Stories" with our kids. Its a wonderful picture book that helps kids learn the scriptures through pictures and simple stories lines. We have found it to a blessing to read them with our kids each morning during breakfast. Everyone gathers together refreshed and clear minded. They say the spirit speaks the clearest to us in the quite peaceful mornings. No better time to feast upon the Scriptures. Not only are their little mouths occupied but so are their eyes and ears on the stories we are teaching them in this book. Its been amazing to see in these past 8 months the growth and transformation in each of our own personal lives and in our family. Its such a great blessing to carry these scripture stories daily in our hearts, minds and spirit. We have learned to relate the scriptures to our own lives....to learn and gain strength as we endure personal and family issues, challenges and adversity just as the Prophets and people of old did.
We are very excited to move on now and read "The Old Testament Stories" I think the kids will really enjoy this book. Now that Tyler is starting school Im so glad we have established scripture study into our breakfast routine. It feels good knowing that he will leave for school each day with a scripture story in his heart to help guide him through the day as it does for all of us as we depart our own separate ways.
By the way the open face breakfast sandwiches in the top picture are to die for. It is our families favorite. Here the recipe...give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Yummm!!! I'll have to try this! We are doing the New Testament picture book in the morning. I love sending my kids off to school knowing what Jesus would do and William likes to take turns reading. What a great tradition!
