Understand that I am not that kind of mom that expects perfection from my kids. We have a motto in our home that I remind Tyler of often. "Be Your Best". All that Matters to Perry and I as parents is that our boys grow up and do the best to their abilities on all aspects in life. I have been VERY pleased to see a continual report of S+ on Tylers pee-chee. S= Satisfactory. Thats average good behavior. In fact each week he comes home with an S+ he is rewarded with 1 extra hour of staying up past bedtime on sunday evenings. His most favorite thing to do during this extra time on sunday is watching "Extreme Makeover Home Edition". I think its pretty neat that he loves that show specially since I named Tyler after Ty the host on that show.
Anyways Tyler has been very eager and determined to achieve and "E" on his pee-chee. I had him ask his teacher what he could do do achieve this goal. She wrote a little helpful note in his last weeks pee-chee report and just mentioned to him that he would need to work on not be so chatty at carpet time and keep his hands to himself during centers. Together Tyler suggested some ways he could conquer this goal. I mentioned maybe he could keep his eyes always on the teacher during carpet time and possibly sit somewhere quit for centers. I did not pressure him to exceed this goal I left it simply it in his hands and let him be in control of achieving such a high expectation. Knowing Tyler I knew if I kept to myself and let him work it out on his own, that indeed eventually he would earn that "E". Thats just how he is he wants to excel in all that he does. As long as his expectations dont tear him down or brake his spirits we support this strong desire for success and coach him in ways to help him achieve these goals and let him conquer them on his own.
This past week he did just that. He would come home and tell me all these wonderful things he did that week. He kept his eye on his teacher when she was speaking, he focused and came home with the most wonderful center scores, and he mentioned to me several times how he went out of his way to help his teacher pick up the room or remind his class to listen and be quit while she was talking. Sure enough we got home Friday afternoon, snuggled on the couch, opened up his pee-chee and with no expectation we both discovered his first ever "E". Excellent Job Tyler.
First things first. He got that DOLLAR bill Mommy and Daddy promised him. On top of still getting his extra hour of awake time Sunday evening. He loves gazing at that dollar bill in such honor and respect for reaching his goal. Hard work sure pays off. :)
Then Daddy came home with a special surprise for him. A Gas Truck Lego Set. He was so "E"xcited.

He had his Lego truck put together within the next day. Good Job Tyler you Deserve it bud. Mommy and Daddy are so Proud of You!
