I'm in the middle of my 35t week. Today My sister tagged along with me as I went to visit the specialist in Reno. I have now been on bed rest for 3 weeks and today they wanted to check Ryans weight, fluid, and placenta and see if the bed rest allowed more nutrients to the baby.
Indeed it did! Happy Day for Baby Ryan, Family and Friends. Baby Ryan has beaten all the odds when it comes to this malfunctioning placenta. He has double in his weight and now weighs a little over 5lbs. He is now 22% on the growth chart instead of 10%. Hes happy, active and in constant motion. The fluid surrounding him is unchanged and looks perfect. He still has a leaky heart valve but most likely that will close up before birth or shortly after. The placenta still remains unchanged and is keeping baby stable and nourished. The doctor wanted me to know that this is just another wonderful success story.I couldnt agree more. Doctor also announced during the ultra sound that baby Ryan has a full head of hair. I can just imagine how adorable he looks. I cant wait to meet him.
I have been turned back over to my OB and no longer need to be monitored at the specialist. As far as bed rest Im not sure what next week entitles. I still have pretty high blood pressure. Recently being 148/90. That concerns my OB and for just that reason I may need to stay low another week or so. I will hear back from her tomorrow. I am anxious to get back on my feet and be a mom to my boys and a wife to my hubby.
Ryan unfortunately is still breech, but Im still hoping for him to flip sometime these next couple of weeks. I look at this breech situation as a blessings, I really do. I have been having some pretty strong contractions lately but the cervix is remaining thick and closed. I am not showing any sign of early labor at this point. I would like to think its because baby is breech. Theres just no pressure added to the cervix at this time to cause dilation, leaving more time for baby to continue to fatten up and use the most out of the placenta. Thats just my theory that I would think is contributing to all this wonderful news. Maybe he'll flip when its time, but for now it feels great to let go of some of my worries and fears and let his strength remind me of the power of faith and hope.
I need to put more faith and hope into this pregnancy. I need to focus more on the words of comfort given to me through priesthood blessings. I need to lay my mortal mind to rest and allow my heart to feel hope.
I feel peace, I feel calm, Ive been told through blessings that baby Ryan will be just fine. Its time to start believing those words and enjoy these last couple of weeks that Ryan kicks and lives inside of me. Soon he will be in my arms. Everything is gonna be okay...as Ryan continues to prove to me. Hes a fighter inside and out and so is his MaMa. We will both plug to the end and have a happy ending. Its time to start believing that.

:-) Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! Go Baby Ryan... Go Ryan. :-) So with the placenta still the same, are they going to let you off bedrest since with bedrest Ryan doubled his weight and activity in just three weeks of resting?
P.S. Trust the Lord. Why would he lie to you? I've learned that a lot over the last few years. If nothing else in this world is possible to be leaned on, the Lord isn't of this world and is able to be leaned on. :-) Yea for peace! :-)
Wonderful news, Keri!!! So happy to hear.
