Nurse Melanie helps her BIG sister

Today my sister became an official NURSE. I am so happy for her. I can testify that she is gonna be one of those special nurses that deeply cares for others and their well being. How I know this, well because ever since my incision broke open she has been my "In home Nurse" She drives down every night from reno just to clean out my wound and pack it with gauze. I guess you could call this one hefty payback for all my fake surgical procedures I did to her growing up. We had so much fun playing doctor as kids. Congratulations Melanie in becoming an offical nurse. You'll do great.

Now that its the real deal she has done an amazing job at tending to my wound and being considerate of my pain at the same time. It seems I have always been the one to take care of her as a BIG sister, yet at this weak point in my life when I am enduring pain beyond words, she has stepped up to the plate at returned the favor. Each night she cleans out my wound she asks me what kinds of things I look forward to doing once I heal. Its a great way to focus on the positive and search for the light at the end of the tunnel. Heres a small list of some of the answers I gave her.

-Go to the gym and get back into shape
-Teach Tyler how to play Tennis
-Become more focused and consistent in Trevor's Mommy School
-Spend more one-on-one time with Spencer and really get to know him. he seems to always be on the back burner of things.
-Take baby Ryan Roller Skating with the family. ( they let you push your baby in a stroller on skates) How fun does that sound. I cant wait
-Go on a sexy date with my Husband. Get dazzled up and feel pretty. Maybe visit a nice spa with a hot tub. Oh how I miss my baths.
-Work on establishing better friendship with those im in contact with
-Have friends over for dinner more often
-Practice football of Baseball with Tyler for the upcoming spring season
-Volunteer at Tyler's and Trevor's school
-Mop my 4 month old dirty floors. (Yes its been that long, thanks to bedrest and all this recovery garbage)
-Learn how to Sew, maybe through a community class or something on those lines.
-Snuggle my kids individually as I read bedtime stories to them. I want to hold them on my lap close my heart. Its been so terribly long, I ache for that.
-Create and exercise a daily chore chart and reward system for Tylers good Pee-Chee reports

.....and much more

Seems like Baby Ryan always wakes up the minute Melanie shows up to take care of my incision. Thank goodness I introduced the bottle this past week, cause now Daddy can pitch in and feed him while I get worked on. Isnt this the cutest picture. There something so sweet about a tiny baby wrapped up in their fathers big tough arms. Just precious.
