Ever Thursday night after dinner I go out for a little "Me Time". Tyler has titled this night "Mommy Recess". He says that everybody deserves a recess even if you dont go to school. This is very true Tyler, and so with that thought "Mommy and Daddy Recess" was born. Thanks for the support Tyler.
So on that note last night I decided to go sit at Borders and get lost in a good book. Which book you may ask? The Happiness Project By: Gretchen Rubin. I've heard lot of good things about this book. In fact a good friend of mine has put this book to the test and I am amazed at the outcome I have noticed in her. My friend inspired me to get lost in this book and take heed to the words and advice as well. So I did just that. I have to admit I am deep within the trenches of Motherhood fighting for balance in my life and peace within the daily grind and chaos. I have found just within a short evening of reading this book what a great weapon this will be in my battle. So starting in May I will begin my very own Happiness Project.
Im really excited about this, and even more excited to bring a little more of my carefree happy go lucky self back.
I decided to test run her methods out and went to bed early last night and greeted my children and Husband with a cheerful song in the morning.
I sprung open the blinds and as the bright morning sunshine filled our living room I sang a cheerful song about Morning Birds. Its goes a little something like this:
In the leafy tree tops the birds sing good morning
How do you do they sang
How do you do they sang
In the leafy tree tops the birds sing good morning
Each of my children's faces lite up with smiles and giggles. At that moment I felt a little lighter on my toes. It was wonderful and one of Gretchens saying came to my mind.
"The days may seem long, but the years are very short" Let's make the best of it, starting today.

Awesome. That sounds like a good read. I could use some of that pep!
I think I will request that we add that book to our book club! Sounds really great! Even if they dont I think I will grab it myself. :)
I love it. I'll have to read that one we could use a little more cheer in our home!
