Fishing Derby

This will be our 3rd year participating in the Gardnerville Fishing Derby. This year was Spencer's first year to fish. He wore the tradtitonal fishing coat that his older brothers wore. It brought him the same good luck and he and Daddy caught 2 BIG fish the size of our minivan( sorry you're not a true fisherman if you don't exaggerate the size of your fish).
Daddy fished with the Two Middle Boys. He helped cast the line and the boys got to real in the fish.

Spencer's 1st Fish. He was a little scared of the squirmy little guy.

Now lets catch one for Trevor.

There ya go Trevor. That-a-boy.

And to top it off, Trevor caught the "Tagged Fish". There are only 2 tagged fish in each session. So he sure got lucky.

He got to make a live announcement to the public and also got to pick out a prize. He picked out a super hero figuring.

Now onto Tyler....this was his first year fishing in the school age section(Parents Free...On his own). It was a little nerving sending him off into this giant fishing section and allowing him to wonder freely. The did have only one entrance so that was comforting. I walked back and forth from each section watching and cheering on each of the boys fishing.

Tyler had such a hard time catching a fish. But every time I went to check up on him he always had a smile on his face.

Finally after fishing for 2 long hours Tyler caught two fish right in a row.

Good job bud....youre a true fisherman. Its not all about the catch its about the wait too.

Baby Ryan will have to wait another 3 more years, but he sure had fun hanging out with Mommy.

The Gang

After fishing we went to a local park and had a fun family picnic.


Another great Family Adventure and it was all FREE!! No better way to have fun.
