Trevor Turns 3

Trevor turned 3 last Sunday the 18th. Heres a little recap of his special day. Since it was on Sunday we just celebrated as a family. In may we will be holding his "Batman Birthday Bash"

For his family Birthday dinner he wanted Daddys Grilled Salmon, Fresh steamed green beans, and rice. I then made him his very own Batman Birthday Cake for dessert. after dessert and before opening presents he came running up to me holler out his famous line. "HOLD MEEEEEEE...HOLD MEEEEEE MOMMY!!!" I gladly lifted him up and as he rapped his tiny little arms around me he said loud and clear. "This is the best brithday ever Mommy" Made my heart melt. I love tight gripped snugly hugs from him. They are the best. Mommy and Daddy went with the traditional 3rd birthday gift...his first big boy bike. Spider man that is. He loved it but not nearly as much as his awesome space station from MiMi and the coll bath toys from Aunt Candy. Maybe when the weather warms up hes get a little more into his bike.

Here a video of him blowing out the candles on his cake. He refused to take a nap that day so he was very tired and barely made it through his birthday cake.

He was so excited to go to Nursery and tell everyone it was his big birthday. I couldnt help but capture this sweet moment that I see each and ever Sunday as Trevor gently guides his younger Brother Spencer down the hall and into nursery.Trevor is quit the sensitive one. He loves his brothers and show it everyday in his snuggles and nurturing play. He is a lot like his MaMa in the sense that he LOVES art. Anything to do with art and he is there. Notice this picture he drew of He and His Daddy playing in the warm sun. Its so cute. He is very shy, quite and reserved at first. But once you get to knwo him and he gets comfortable with you hes a total crack up and ham. Hes got the most sensitive heart and loves to find and pick flowers for his MaMa out of the backyard when he sees my cry or knows im sad. Hes a terrific little man.

I will have you know that Trevor has been also driving his Mother bonkers during the night and at bedtime. For a long while I could not get him to stay in his bed or go to sleep peacefully. it was always a fight loaded with major tears on both my end and his. At times I would check on him and notice Spencer climbed into bed with him. They would be holding hands and laughing together. It didnt really make bedtime go any faster, but it sure did make them happy to be friends and help each other fall asleep. so cute!!Hes a typical 3 year old. A true Mr. know-it-all, full of energy and determination to get his way only in all things. He can be quit feisty and impatient when things dont go his way. Its not his fault poor kid its just what comes with the package of being 3 years old. I am so relieved to have found my Sleep Bible Book and have time to skim through it and refresh my memory of how to handle all these erratic behaviors and night terrors.

The solution has been night and day for him. I have been reading "The 5 love languages of Children" lately as well and have acknowledge the fact that Trevors Love Language is Gifts and Words of Affirmation. When I read in my sleep book about a solution involving gifts I knew it would fit him perfectly. I was to get him a little box to place by his bed as a " Treasure Box" I tell him every night that I will with him and hold his hand for 5 minutes and then one I walk out of the room he is to remain quit, go to sleep, and stay in his bed all night unless he needs a potty brake. If he does this he gets to wake up each morning that he succeeds to a special treasure in his "treasure box". He has not fussed one night since. he runs into my room every morning with his box in hand and a smile on his face as he opens his box everyday like its Christmas morning. I couldnt be any happier.

So that's a glimpse of my fabulous 3 Year Old. Here's to another fun year.
