Today Perry and I got to spend over an hour watching our little angel wiggle and live inside me. I have never had so much "one on one" time with any of our unborn children as this. It was the most wonderful event since being pregnant. We got to see baby in great detail as the doctor went through his check list. I am pleased to say baby has no major signs of down syndrome at this time. No extra skin behind the neck and great working kidneys. The only problem doctor noticed was a leaky heart valve. This can be just as common in down syndrome as in a normal healthy baby. Most of the time it is caused by an over active hyper mom. Is he saying something about me? I had to laugh as I explained my role as a Mother of 3 crazy boys and a new puppy. Theres no such thing as down time for this pregnant MaMa, hence the reason hopefully behind the leaky heart valve.
With that we still denied the amnio and have decided to lean completely on faith and prayer for peace and comfort during this time of wait. This Ultra sound is only 50% accurate, so as far as knowing for sure if baby has downs...thats something we will just have to wait and see when baby arrives in our arms. Though we are still facing this trial we are still filled with peace and joy. Perry and I couldnt be any happier in our hearts seeing our little unborn child happy and full of energy and wiggles.
Now we just learn to put everything in the Lords hands and wait. Time to enjoy all the wonderful blessings that come from being pregnant and nurturing a child from within. We both fell deeply madly in love with this little one today and can't wait to meet baby and see it's beautiful face.
