It's been amazing this past month to start the New Testament with the kids as we have prepared for Christmas. I think after reading the words of the Old Testament we as a family were just as excited to read of the "Birth of Our Savior" as the people in the scriptures were to meet him. Its so fitting for this time of year. Our boys have sure enjoyed listening and watching the stories of Jesus from being born to being a boy just like them. Though he was perfect Jesus had to endure the same challenges we face as individuals. Its been really neat for the kids to notice his example in all things. As the pictures described, Jesus loved riding on his Daddy's shoulders and loved praying to Heavenly Father. Jesus loved teaching and sharing the gospel with others. He had been tempted by Satan just as we are each and every day, yet he remained a strong example through all challenges in life. He learned to not stray from his Mother and Father and to be obedient to them. It's neat for the boys to get to know Jesus as a boy, just like them. What a great example he is in our home and to our 3 young little boys. What a wonderful time of the year to learn of his younger years and focus on his teachings through out our scripture study. Once again not a coincidence, just another reason why we love reading the scriptures together as a family. We love how the stories relate to our daily lives and challenges we face.
